Non-Numerical series, consisting of 5 artworks. Each artwork includes a “front” and “back” inspired by world banknotes/paper currency. The visual language inspired by currency includes security patterning, the EURion constellation, block structures, astronomical constellations, and symbols derived from Hindu-Arabic numerals. Each piece also includes an altered landscape painting and a still life taken from a piece of historical artwork. This series of artwork was created while contemplating questions related to value, art, monetary systems, and new digital economies – such as their necessity and inherent contradictions. Each piece in the series is also a form of performance. As the artwork only receives its true assigned value once purchased, it is an essential part of the making of this artwork.
